The Counsel of the Ungodly
....Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful....
(Psalms 1:1) KJBV
The Holy Scriptures warns us not to walk in the counsel of the ungodly. It is inevitable that we will be given ungodly advice at times in our lives, but we ought not walk in the direction that will put us against the teachings and will of God.
In this sinful world, the counsel of the ungodly is everywhere. The counsel of the ungodly is the advise of ungodly people.
Who is ungodly according to the word of God Almighty?
The people who is gay or lesbian, and those who approve the practice of homosexuality are ungodly. God is against sexual immorality (Romans 1:18-32). All uncleanness, covetousness, maliciousness; envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; whispering, backbiting, violence, pride, boasting, inventing evil things, disobedience to parents, untrustworthiness, unloving, unforgiving, unmercy; not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them, are ungodly (Romans 1:18-32).
Giving an advise to have an abortion is ungodly. Anyone who recommends to have a divorce is ungodly. God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), (Matthew 19:8). Waging wars without the wise counsel of the prophets of the Lord, is ungodly. Breaching the law to abuse the rights of the people is ungodly, God loves justice (Psalm 33:5).
The true Christian person who walk in the Spirit of the Lord differentiate himself from ungodly people, which includes the false Christian person who walk in the flesh. We thank God for doctors, who do great job treating people, but many of them are ungodly. Psychiatrist, psychologists and social workers who do not have knowledge of God (the good) and of Satan (the evil) are ungodly, They have no knowledge of His word and will and have not conviction of sin, righteousness and judgment and do not walk in the way of the Lord, and thus cannot counsel the righteousness of God and minister His healing power.
The ungodly rules over you, and might want you to respect the laws that not even himself respect. The ungodly want to tell you how to rise your children. The ungodly want to tell you how to behave. The ungodly want to tell you what is right and what is wrong. But God says: Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ (Colossians 2:8). Without having the knowledge of good and evil, the ungodly cannot give the best counseling. The best counseling is the counsel of the Lord.
Ungodly counseling has proven to fail. One example is seen in the decision of Absalom, son of king David. Prince Absalom, sought advice from his ungodly counselors on how he might bring about defeat of his father. After hearing the advice from the two counselors, he made a decision to follow the plan of Hushai. That was the poorer of the two advises and would ultimately lead to Absalom’s defeat and death. Hushai's was an ungodly counselor. We read: So Absalom and all the men of Israel said, “The advice of Hushai the Archite is better than the advice of Ahithophel.” For the Lord had purposed to defeat the good advice of Ahithophel, to the intent that the Lord might bring disaster on Absalom (2 Samuel 17:14).
Again, anything contrary to God, is ungodly. And the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18). This truth is the prophetic word of counsel of God, that is "supposed to rule our lives," which is being temporarily suppressed by each and all of the governments of the nations.
The wrath of God, is being manifested against those who suppress His word in unrighteousness. For this reason, all the governments of the people must stop suppressing the word of counsel of the Lord, and should allow the training of social workers and psychologists among other groups on the knowledge of the word of the Lord to counsel others. The Church shall do its own part. Without conviction of sin, and righteousness and judgment there cannot be salvation for anyone (Romans 3:19). God demands holiness (I Peter 1:13-16). Godliness is profitable FOR ALL THINGS, having promise of the life that now is and of which is to come (I Timothy 4:8). Ultimately, the counsel of the Lord will stand (Proverbs 19:20-21).
